Finding a job on your own is not an easy task in today's rapidly changing world of work. We offer a range of services from job search classes to job placement services to help you find your first job, get back in the job market, or find a better job. Choose only the services you need and want. Whether you are a displaced worker, making a career change, or new to the workplace, we are here to help you achieve your professional and personal goals. All services are offered at no cost to you!

JOB SEARCH

  • Access to Phones, Fax, Copier and Computers.: Use phones to contact prospective employers, fax your resume, and use Microsoft® Office for employer correspondence. Access to local, state and national job listings through the internet and newspapers.
  • Job Search: You may review job listings in the Florida Jobs system, as well as openings in national data bases; see our Job Links page. You may register yourself as an applicant in the data base, or staff is available to help you complete a job search.
  • Employability Skills: Valuable tips to find and keep a job.
  • Interviewing Skills: Professionals teach you what to do and say at an interview.
  • Job Placement: Matching job seekers with employers is our main objective.
  • Placement Testing: Occupational skills tests are administered to determine if you meet the employer's qualifications.
  • Resume Services: A qualified counselor will assist you in creating or updating your resume.
  • Labor Market Information: Labor market information helps you find what jobs are in demand, pay rates, unemployment rates, skills and qualifications needed for various occupations.
  • Eligibility determination for specialized programs: Special programs are available to eligible persons. If you are unable to find a job after looking for work for a period of time, you may request an eligibility determination. Special programs offer additional assistance to help you find a job, or a better job.

EDUCATIONAL & TRAINING PROGRAMS

  • Workforce Readiness Certification: A program designed to give you a competitive edge in the job market. Earn the credentials employers are looking for!
  • On-the-Job Training: We will find you a job with an employer who is willing to train an pay you as you work and learn.
  • ComputerTraining: We offer instruction from the basics through Microsoft® Office.
  • GED Preparation: Now you can easily obtain your high school equivalency through individual instruction suited to your schedule.
  • College Registration: Register on-line for Treasure Coast educational institutions.
  • Work Experience: Gain supervised practical training in a work environment.
  • Job Shadowing: Spend some time on the job observing someone in the field of your choice.
  • Remediation: Enhance your reading and math skills to qualify for a new or better job.

If we can't help you with a need, we will refer you to another agency that may be help you.

CAREER TRACKS

  • Assessment:Find out what the best career is for you, based on your interests, skills and aptitude.
  • Career Exploration: Find that special career by exploring videos, the internet and books on career options.
  • Counseling: Trained professionals are available to provide guidance and information about your career choices.
  • PellApplication: We can walk you through the steps to apply for a Federal Pell Grant or other scholarships that cover your training and costs.
  • Scholarships: If eligible, we cover the cost of tuition, books and other fees for occupational training at approved facilities (subject to the availability of funding).

SPECIAL SERVICES

  • Life Skills Workshops: Learn ways to balance the many demands in your life.
  • Child Care Assistance: If eligible, the cost of childcare may be covered for participants enrolled in training programs or going to work.
  • Transportation Assistance: We offer vouchers for public transportation and gas cards to assist you in getting to work or school if eligible.
  • Job Coaching: One-on-one assistance to help you get, and keep, the job you desire.
  • Literacy Instruction: Reading is taught on all levels.
  • Communication: English is taught to speakers of all languages.
  • Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Screenings: Participate in a needs assessment and be referred for treatment, if necessary.
  • Referrals for Credit Counseling: Learn the principles of budgeting and debt management.
  • Family Support and Assistance: Qualified applicants may receive financial assistance while looking for employment or learning job skills.
